PRAVDA: China's territory is “rocks and sand”, according to the USA

  • Philippines were pressured to surrender to China, USA says

  • China is ready to respond using power to protect their territory

  • USA doesn´t recognize China´s islands and refers to them as “rocks and sand”

The second day of discussing the territorial dispute question raised once again the question about the intentions of the United States. When asked about the details of the US military vessel during the ICJ press conference, delegates of USA didn´t give any comments and referred to the data of the ship as “threat to their national security”.

A question about the hypothetical situation of China´s vessels near the US was asked during the press conference from the US delegation, which they responded that they would act accordingly. That lead to the follow up question about why US don´t see their vessel being Chinese territorial waters the same, which the delegation didn´t give a complete and properly understandable answer.

The People´s Republic of China expressed dissatisfaction of the delegations of South China Sea countries not represented in the court and not getting the say in this question. China has improved relations with the countries, that stay in the nine-dash line, to ensure that every affected nation gets to express their opinion on the question.

For the first time during the process, Brazil delegation has started expressing their viewpoints on the topic. Delegation gave a statement, that they want to reduce the US influence in the region, something that is discussed thoroughly on the both days of the court session.

USA has stated that it doesn´t recognize territories near China´s coastline as islands at all, referring to them as “rocks and sand”, which they rely as one of the main base points about the question of satisfying Chinese territorial claims, which China has already proved wrong with the proof of having architecture and inhabitants there for hundreds of years.
