Author: Arminas Baranauskas

This article consists of pictures and information about the 2nd day of the committee, which was about preparing and presenting their revisions. The revisions consist of information that was discussed in the debates the previous day.

The first caucuses were all unmoderated and the delegates of countries in separate groups made their group revisions. The first coalition was made up of delegates from Yemen, Chad, and Iran. Out of them the delegate from Chad shined the brightest. The second alliance consisted of Cuba, Switzerland, and Kuwait. Both teams were highly concentrated to rise for the challenge. After the lunch break, the delegates were ready to present their revisions.

In the first revision the presenters highlighted the general themes. Healthy diet, Water distillation, Sustainable food systems and educating farmers for agriculture, engineering and use of pesticides all were highlighted.

The creators of the resolution, mainly Chad, shared that there were some key issues, but the overall revision is good, mainly because the problems were adequately solved and because it was mainly focused on less developed countries. Even so there was room for improvement and the problem of overconsumption was neglected. Yemen marked the importance of humanitarian aid.

After the first revision there was time for amendments and speeches. The amendments were mostly minor, but there were some amendments that did not pass.

After that, the time came for the 2nd group’s resolution, which mostly consisted of problems such as water pollution, also marine and waste management problems. Almost all the solutions proposed were related to sea nature. Their main motive was as they said to make the world a better place for both developed and developing countries. Their presentation was focused on and connected to climate change.

Following the amendments and speeches, either in favour or not, it was time for simple voting of which revision was the best. And after the voting the winning revision was announced. With a total voting of 4:2 the winning revision was the first one, consisting of Chad, Yemen, and Iran. They were greeted with applauses. Congratulations to the winners.
